Pet of the Week: Genie

Hello, and welcome to the first edition of Pet of the Week!! Submit your pet through email (newscoolchronicle@gmail.com) and I’ll make a bio about them including their favorite foods, favorite toys, annoying habits, etc! This week I’m writing about my own pet, Genie the cat.

Genie is a female American Shorthair breed. She has calico patterned fur, which means she has patches of black, brown, and white all over her fur (mostly white). She is about 11 years old in human years, but is 60 years old in cat years!! Her favorite food is freeze dried salmon treats and kibble. She isn’t really interested in store bought toys for some reason, and refuses to actually participate in playing with them unless it’s this certain yellow string she’s obsessed with.

Some annoying habits she has are that around 10:00 pm after she’s had her dinner, she’ll frantically run up and down the stairs and scream at the top of her lungs. Also, around 7:30 am or so on a weekend when I sleep in, she begs to come inside my room and yells and paws at the door until I let her in. Basically she acts as if she’s starved for attention, but most of the time she’s very sweet.
