1st Annual Magic In Motion 5K

The five kilometer run started with a bang. The competitive group started at 9:00 am, the non-competitive group five minutes later. It was a lovely day, with sun in the sky, not a cloud in sight, very hot, but still. We ran past the Chase Center, past (surprisingly empty) Oracle Park. About ¾ of the way to the halfway point, Ms. Heather greeted us with tiny water bottles and cups. At the halfway point, Ms. Rachael told us to turn around. The way back felt shorter.

Everyone was feasting on muffins, Dino shaped fruit snacks, and granola bars. There were two sections, fastest kids and fastest adults. The youth winner was our very own 7th grader, Winston Coady! Seconded by Gael in 6th, and in third, Daschel, another 7th grader! Parent winners were Pierce Kilduff (Poppy and Hadley’s dad) came in 1st, Sean Coady (Winston and Donovan’s dad) came in 2nd and Bryce Fisher-Fleig (Amias’s dad) came in 3rd. There was a raffle and everyone got a free raffle ticket.

For those still interested in running a reminder that Cross Country Club meets every Thursday after school in the west driveway.

Nur Schlenker

Nur is an 8th grader many readers will remember from Nur’s baking corner. She is a mole, fashionista, official Baker Of The Council (I just bring baked goods occasionally to student council meetings even though I am not on student council), and book Affectinado. They will most likely be writing about baked goods, good books, and anything else that picks her fancy.
