Record Roundup 1

Welcome to the weekly Record Roundup! Here, every week, a bunch of music released the week before will be compiled in this column for you to discover. There will be all types of music, covering very popular releases and some less popular ones, alongside my personal favorites.

Now, let’s get into the music. Last Friday, many artists released new music, the week before Taylor Swift releases her album The Life of a Showgirl. Some of the more mainstream releases include Doja Cat’s fifth studio album Vie, featuring her return to pop music; a new Mariah Carey album Here For It All; Zara Larsson’s Midnight Sun, and Tate McRae’s new single, who’s name I cannot put here, likely aimed at her ex The Kid Laroi.

More indie music that has been released is Geese’s album Getting Killed, Magdalena Bay’s single Second Sleep / Star Eyes, Neon Grey Midnight Green by Neko Case, glaive’s (according to me) highly anticipated third album Y’all, and many more. Some of my favorite music that has been released include FKA twigs’ single from her fourth album AFTERGLOW, Cheap Hotel and the remix of Yaeji’s 2024 single booboo, booboo2 featuring Aliyah’s Interlude and underscores (<3). There have also been so SO many other releases from last week.
