The 2025-26 Basketball Season

The NBA regular season will be starting on the 21st of October. The Oklahoma City Thunder will be facing the Houston Rockets and  the Los Angeles Lakers will be hosting the Golden State Warriors. Last season, many star players faced soul-crushing injuries. Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers suffered a devastating torn achilles in game 7 of the 2025 NBA finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

After Haliburton was injured, the Pacers were never able to recover, resulting in Oklahoma City’s first championship in franchise history. Also, Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics, suffered a similar injury in a second round playoff game against the New York Knicks. Damian Lillard, a player who was on the Milwaukee Bucks last season also tore his achilles tendon and developed deep vein thrombosis along with San Antonio Spurs star center Victor Wembanyama.

Other major injuries and trades occurred last season leaving people to question what this season will look like. NBA analysts’ thoughts about the upcoming season are that there will be a lot of talent in the Western Conference with strong teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder led by star Shai Gilgeous Alexander. Other stars playing in the Western Conference include Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets and Luka Doncic of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Meanwhile, teams like the Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference may struggle due to major injuries to their star players Tatum and Haliburton as mentioned above. This will be an interesting season, if you are curious about next seasons’ turnouts then you will want to stay tuned to the NBA action starting October 21st.

As everyone knows, he will be leaving school next year and he wants to make this year the best, hoping to carry on the legacy of the newspaper. Felix wants to encourage the next gen of 7th and 8th graders to join the newspaper elective as all of our current staff will be leaving the school next year.
