Teacher Gossip: 3rd Edition

1. What influences seating charts?

Ms. Eilbert: Fate / karma! I use a spreadsheet to make them randomly :)

Mr. Maloney: Seating Charts?! I put names on blank cards and assign random seating.

Ms. Jackson: I do random seating every day, so it's the luck of the draw.

2. What is your favorite holiday and why?

Ms. Jackson: I love Thanksgiving because I love eating! I also love Christmas because where I grew up it always snowed, so we would go sledding, build snowmen, drink hot chocolate and sit by the fire. Sometimes... we'd have to shovel the snow off the sidewalk and that was less than enjoyable.

Ms. Heather: Christmas, for sure. I love giving gifts, things people want, and things people need. I appreciate the two-week break from school as well. I like that the holiday has its own music and traditions.

3. What’s your go-to comfort activity?

Ms. Eilbert: Watching an episode of the Great British Baking Show.

Ms. Belkora: I love to read for my comfort activity!

Mr. Maloney: Go to comfort activity is snacking on the sofa with Netflix.

Ms. Jackson: Reading a good book!!

Ms. Heather: Reading or watching reality tv competition shows

4. If you were invisible for ten minutes, what would you do?

Ms. Eilbert: Pull pranks on my advisory :)

Mr. Maloney: Oof. Take a nap.

Ms. Jackson: Exist in disbelief and then by the time I was ready to do something it would be over.

Ms. Heather: At school, I would lay in the middle of the run in the classroom library and relax. -- I don't need to be invisible at home.

5. If you can remember, what is the best WI-FI name you’ve ever seen? What is your Wi-Fi name?

Ms. Eilbert: Not sure about the best one I've ever seen, but mine is named after my dog - BuffyTheGoodGirl

Ms. Heather: ”Bill Wi the Science Fi", "Drop It Like It's Hotspot", or "Luke, I am Your Router"

6. Why do you think round pizzas come in square boxes?

Ms. Eilbert: For the plot.

Ms. Belkora: I think it's easier to make straight edges than rounded edges, so the square shape is probably faster and more cost effective.

Mr. Maloney: Maybe square boxes are easier to make??

Ms. Jackson: It probably is a cost thing -- I bet it costs more money to make a round box and pizza companies are cheeeap.

7. What’s the funniest joke you’ve ever heard?

Mr. Maloney: Why can’t you trust an atom? They make up everything!

8. If you were a boxer, what would be your entrance song?

Ms. Eilbert: Fighter, by Christina Aguilera

Mr. Maloney: Eye of Tiger!

Ms. Jackson: I’m Sorry Ms. Jackson

Ms. Heather: All I Do is Win

9. Do you know how to fold a fitted sheet?

Ms. Eilbert: I have a method for folding them. Not everyone agrees with my method.

Ms. Belkora: This is so difficult! I don't know any method that ensures it looks like a nice flat square. Mine usually ends up puffy and more rectangular with uneven edges.

Mr. Maloney: Ball it up and throw it in the closet!

Ms. Jackson: If by fold you mean crumble up into a ball after multiple attempts, then yes, yes I do.

Ms. Heather: Of course. I'm a grown woman.

10. What’s the best ad you remember from when you were a kid?

Ms. Belkora: I liked the "Leggo my Eggo" ads where two people grab the waffle jumping out of the toaster at the same time. Of course all students know how much I love the School House Rock videos too. Those aren't ads, but they played among the ads when I was growing up.

Mr. Maloney: I always remember the public service announcements with the gold star and rainbow...

Ms. Heather: The one where the man shows a frying pan and says, this is drugs. Then he cracks the egg into a hot frying plan and says, this is your brain on drugs. Any questions?

11. If you could replace all the grass on the Earth with something else, what would it be?

Ms. Eilbert: Something edible! Tasty little snacks everywhere!

Ms. Belkora: Food producing plants

Ms. Jackson: Trampolines or sand or moss.

12. What would peanut butter be called if it wasn’t called peanut butter?

Ms. Eilbert: Gloop.

Mr. Maloney: Legume spread… yuck…

Ms. Jackson: Pulverized Peanuts

Ms. Heather: Creamy, oily peanuts
