Dreams
Frathouse (*~*)
I had a dream once where I enrolled in the Marines. This was right after I had just started watching the show, Boots, so that wasn't SO unreasonable and unexplainable, but the funny thing is what happened after. In some mysterious way, I ended up living in a frat house that was in the middle of a bog. It was multiple stories tall on the outside, but on the inside, it was like my aunt's house: one story and with carpeted floors. This frat was so mysterious because there wasn't a school in miles. All the people there were so annoying that I was tempted to defenestrate at least one of them, but the thing is, we sorta fell into this slice-of-life kind of thing. The frat bro who looked like Edshiren but buff and with curly hair would play the guitar sometimes, and we would all sit on the floor together making fun of him. We got so tight that they started telling me old frathouse legends, like one about how Earth is just a giant turtle, and we‘re on its back, and one with a man-eating crocodiles that smell like gas station fried chicken.
One day, some tourists in a canoe who looked sorta like they were related to Jare Ijalana pulled up and asked if they could stay the night with us, seeing as they had no shelter. We, being reasonable people, said “Hell no” to these strangers. They, also being reasonable people, broke in and spent the night with us anyway. The next morning, when they left to do touristy things in their canoe, it started to smell like fried chicken. By the time they got a foot away from the frathouse, a bunch of crocodiles had eaten them alive.
Even though they were already dead, the six or seven other people in the frat and I had all jumped in the water to save them. In some mysterious way, we had defeated the crocodiles! I was so mystified, but apparently not mystified enough to go back inside the frat house and take a nice warm gooey mud bath. (Then I woke up.)
Etiquette School
I had a dream that a friend and I, whom we’ll call Sally, went to etiquette school. The mansion was tall and looked like a really fancy church or palace. This etiquette school was unusual, though. Instead of teaching us manors, they taught us games and how to invade army bases. My dream starts out with Sally and me, as well as the other girls there, being told to play hide-and-seek.
I was wearing this floor-length, red, poofy ball gown, and Sally was wearing a long, silver-white, sparkly dress. I had no idea how to play hide-and-seek, so I asked Sally to teach me. She said the best hiding place was in plain sight, so we lay on the floor. The seeker was coming, and I started to panic, so I took Sally and we hid behind a bookcase-chair. Next thing I know, we’re in a dark, musty, tall stairwell, dressed like the army. The general, a short woman, said she had important news, then I woke up.
Apocalypse
I had a dream about the apocalypse. It all started at Joe DiMaggio during PE. None of my friends wanted to hang out with me, so I played Concentration with two people in my grade. My friends eventually moved over near us, but still didn’t want to be with me. My parents appeared out of nowhere, and my dad had to take an important phone call. After hanging up the phone, he started manipulating everyone at the park to go take Bart and Muni and get out of the city because the apocalypse was coming. Next thing I know we're driving on a road next to the bay, where there's this giant net. The net was supposed to catch Godzilla. Then, I appeared, all alone, in the middle of the bay, snorkeling. Over my snorkel intercom, I hear, “We got them”. “Them” was the Hawaiian marine wildlife. I stuck my head underwater and saw Hawaiian animals. Then I woke up.
Now, after I woke up, I fell back asleep, and the craziest thing happened. The dream repeated, but with some added elements. I also knew I was repeating the dream, so I could predict what would happen next. The dream starts at the park, but after playing Concentration, my friend and I, we’ll call her Sally, were hanging out in a wooden water-pool tower where the swing should be. The whole 8th grade was swimming in the multi-level tower.
As the tower started shaking, Sally felt scared, so we went down into the basement, which was a fancy hotel with expensive wine that we were drinking. The hotel had board games on the wine shelf, and beer too. Eventually, we went outside, where this kid from one of my sports practices was there, shooting lasers out of his eyes. He said, “I will destroy everything”. My parents showed up, my dad took the phone call, and he directed everyone to the nearest public transit.
My family and I waited for the bus, but the first bus was too full. Once the next bus came, we drove down that road by the bay, but we made a stop before passing the giant net. We stopped in a Japanese internment camp, watching a video on an old box TV. The TV played a documentary of the apocalypse and what was coming. The video said in a low voice “The bridges will fall”, then all of a sudden, the bridges fell. “The ground will shake” and the ground shook. I started getting freaked out, so I woke myself up.
Hallway
I had a short dream in a dark hallway once. I was walking through the hallway when one of my friends yelled at me from behind. Suddenly, I started running and they were chasing after me, but we stayed the same distance from each other the whole time. I would also fall from time to time and they would stop and wait for me. After a while, I had realized I was in a music video for some classical piano song and everything turned a little bit blue.
Obviously, it wouldn’t be a dream without some crazy abstraction, so everything started melting but for some reason it all still looked the same, everything just felt like a liquid. I somehow knew I was in a dream by that point and wanted to wake up to I reached into the sky, grabbed some random object, and threw it onto the ground, shattering my vision into a bunch of shards and I woke up.
